Why do I paint?

Simply because I ‘have’ to. Painting is a passion, a force within me to translate what I feel into an image I can share. It can be a peek into someone else’s life, their feeling of joy, peace, toil, conflict, accomplishment or just being in the moment.

Painting can be a scene where I see tranquility and beauty. A still life that brings color into the world, the play of textures. The urge to paint hits me and I turn the image over and over in my mind until I ‘see’ it.

I hope my paintings can bring some intrigue and feelings of peace and joy into your life.

It is important to note my training is varied and I have studied with many giants in the field of fine art. No one becomes a painter of worth without standing on the shoulders of those that came before us and without much intentional and at times frustrating practice.
